Confirmation

Dear Confirmation Candidates and Parents,

Bishop Tobin has given pastors the faculty to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to those in their respective parish who are prepared to receive this sacrament. This faculty has been given considering the present restrictions regarding the covid-19 virus.

I hope to be able to schedule confirmations in July. This of course will depend on the opening of our churches for public worship. The celebrations will take place on Saturdays at 11:00 AM, outside of Mass. I will schedule as many confirmations as necessary, depending on the total number of people allowed at one time in the church.

Social distancing and the use of masks will no doubt be required for everyone. I presently envision scheduling three ceremonies. With ten candidates and their sponsors, plus two parents and clergy that would bring the total number of participants just under 50 people.

I am looking at the month of July to schedule these ceremonies. You will be informed several weeks before as to what dates your son or daughter will be confirmed, along with all needed information.
