Welcome Home

Robert Frost said, "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in." As home, the church is not just a building; it is a community of faith, the gathering of the faithful, the people of God. We are called to be church for one another, to be God's family for one another. God has given us this spiritual home as we journey to the heavenly home where we will dwell completely with God and with others. Our task while we are here is to do all we can to help everyone grow into the home we will share for all eternity.

Some people, although baptized and raised as Catholics, feel estranged or separated because of misunderstandings of Church teachings, or the feeling that their lives are not like those of others, or the fear that what they are is unacceptable. We are called to push back the walls that prevent people from coming home.

The message of Jesus is clear: "Love one another as I have loved you." God does not withhold his love from any of us. God's love is unconditional, and that is the gift God offers us in Jesus.

Welcome to our parish community. Welcome home. I invite everyone to participate in the work of welcoming the entire family into our home, the Church, where all are embraced with God's unconditional love.
