ST. PETER ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
Dear Parishioners,
As we begin the holy season of Lent our hearts and prayers are with the Ukrainian people, as they endure the invasion of their country by Russia. We need to pray constantly and not lose hope. This threat by Russia to the security of Europe and the whole world harkens back to the days of World War II. May God bless us with peace and with the ability to protect and defend the rights and freedoms of all peoples.
Although the problems we face each day do not compare with the present suffering of our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, I want to share something personal with you.
This past November I was once again diagnosed with clear cell renal carcinoma. A routine CT scan found a mass on the outside of one of my ribs. During the months of December and January, I received two kinds of new therapies designed to address this cancer.
I am happy to report that the results of a recent CT scan showed that the mass has detached from the rib and is significantly reduced in size and that the rib is healing. I will continue receiving infusion therapy twice a month and will have another CT scan in May or June.
I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving as your pastor. My present term will continue until June of 2023. Please continue to pray that God will bless me with good health now and for the future. I am grateful for my doctors and the new therapies that are being developed every year. I am also grateful for those who have been praying for me. You all have a special remembrance in all my Masses and prayers.
May this season of Lent be a time of grace and renewal for us and for all who are suffering everywhere.
Gratefully Yours,
Father Gagne
